Top 10 of 2013 is a five day, end-of-the-year blogging event that is being hosted by FiktshunTwo Chicks on Books, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. Each day will feature a different top ten list, starting with today's list: The Ten Best Books I've Read In 2013. Luckily for me, this list is for books read in 2013, not just those which were published in 2013. This means I have more books to choose from! Now, without further ado, here are the ten best books that I've read this year:

In case any of you are curious, my number one spot this year goes to The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick, which was utterly amazing! I'm glad that I read it before deciding to watch the film, since I really did not like the movie at all - I felt that the characters fell flat, whereas in the novel they were fantastic!

  1. I LOVE the Under the Never Sky series! I'm reading Into the Still Blue right now and it's really good so far. Though the Ever Night almost made my list. I wish it could have been longer! Eleanor and Park too!

  2. I really want to read Eleanor & Park, I've been seeing it everywhere for the past couple months, everyone loves those books with a passion. I was pretty shocked at how much I liked Night, it was a powerful story and I'm still trying to wrap my head around some of the scenes.

    1. Eleanor & Park is the only Rainbow Rowell novel that I've read, but it was so amazing that I've already added all of her other books to my TBR - they all sound good, too!

Night was hard to read, but it was an amazing story. WWII interests me greatly, but it's hard not to get emotional when hearing about what people went through...

    1. I definitely cried reading Rose Under Fire - the characters may be fictional, but there were real people who had to endure similar (or even worse) events to those described in the book

      And I'm sure you'll enjoy the Rossi novels - they're so well-written!

    1. This was the first Matthew Quick novel I've read, but it certainly was amazing! He has one coming out next year that sounds super awesome, also (The Good Luck of Right Now).

  6. Your list is very different than mine. Half the books on your list are new to me. Silver Linings Playbook looks very interesting. Old follower.
